Kid Cudi Man on the Moon III

Cudi’s Back. With a masterpiece of an album. One of the artists I can firmly say that stayed relevant for as long as I can remember without having to drop new music. Cudi’s music just takes you back and has that indescribable vibe to it that sets your mind free and just relaxes your soul, roll one up, whatever it might be. The people needed Cudi at this very point in time, as we are wrapping up one of the worst years in history, 2020. 

Simply put, Kid Cudi did not miss on this project. His first track, Tequila Shots off first listen might be a song of the year candidate. Cudi is a true story teller in his music who gives life lessons, spreads positivity, and cares about the music he puts out. He speaks on his past struggles with finding himself, his depression, his paranoia, and everything he’s been through vividly in Lovin Me and the entirety of the album. Real life shit that he is able to speak out on, unreal. His melodic tone over chill beats with humming… hits all types of emotions and lets you just vibe out. “Life goes by, search for your love, wherever it be,” Cudi sang in Sept 16. He gives the people lyrics they could take inspiration from and to push forward with. 

As far as features go, there’s not much, as expected. However Cudi paid tribute to the late Pop Smoke with Show Out, this duo works great together in a track, it’s a shame we won’t be hearing these greatly influential and different artists collab again. Cudi even hopped on a drill beat in this one and killed it. 

Our Opinion after First Listen: This is the album of the year. There is not one miss regardless if you tryna get lit at a party or you need something to listen to when you're in your bag. If you messed with both Man on the Moons, this is a perfect part III. If you enjoyed any of his previous work with Kanye or even grew up on his music like a lot of this generation has, you will 100% not find a single off track in this project. This album is unreal, very therapeutic, and a whole vibe. There are multiple song of the year candidates here, off first listen the couple that jump out to me are Tequila Shots, The Void, Mr Solo Dolo III, and Heaven on Earth.
