Scorey

Walking home from a park in Syracuse in the spring of last year, I saw someone who sounded like G Herbo shooting a music video. The music video was just a rapper walking around singing with music blasting and I actually walked over and said you sound like G Herbo and I like your music but I never caught his name. I asked my friend, who was from the Syracuse area, if he knew of any local rapper and he mentioned the name Scorey. I then checked him out on Spotify, and I only recall him having 6 or maybe 7 songs back then. After listening to a few of his songs, I couldn’t stop replaying Moods. Moods was extremely catchy and I could not get it out of my head. The song has an incredible beat, has amazing flow, and is a deep song where Scorey talks about his feelings. In his song, he starts off saying, “Lately my heart been feeling cold and I don’t love nobody.” I personally just loved how he shares his feelings because it is easy to relate to at times. He gave me a similar vibe akin to one of my favorite artists, Polo G, and coincidentally a few months later I saw him featured on Polo’s album Hall of Fame. He was featured in one of his songs called Broken Guitars. I then found out he was the first artist signed to Polo’s label. Now Scorey has over 15 songs released and he’s coming out with bangers every time I check out his Spotify. He is an extremely talented artist. His flow is impeccable, his beat selection is great, and his lyrics are meaningful. In addition, he is only 22 years old. His future is extremely bright, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for him.
