OnlyJahmez
An exciting artist, full of energy, who will walk up on stage with a suit jacket, no shirt, and dress pants. OnlyJahmez is unique and will be mainstream soon enough, learn about him before he does make that breakthrough.
Jahmez has one intention when performing: to turn up the crowd and to get them to sing along with his music, whether they’ve heard it before or not. He doesn’t care. The New Jersey native is making waves and is creating unique and catchy music that the younger generation of people can relate to. Whether it's a mosh pit or feeling down, and even with such little discography, Jahmez has been able to offer all of these emotions in his music. Jahmez is signed to record label Sloppy Vinyl and has been featured on Hot 97 and has earned recognition from many music communities such as Major Stage.
This is an artist who I have personally heard live at Syracuse University and was unexpectedly wowed. Jahmez has been traveling to different colleges recently to perform his music. He’s not traveling for no reason: Jahmez is an artist who travels with the Happy Jack team for events and turns up the crowd in a big way. Happy Jack is a clothing company, created by my late life long best friend Jack Nathan, who unexpectedly passed away at 19 years old. His clothing brand lends a helping hand to those fighting mental illness, anxiety, and depression. Jahmez is a part of the effort to keep the message alive that “It is okay to not be okay.” This message is clearly heard in his track “Demons” which is a go to song when feeling down as a form of music therapy. “I’ve been knocking out these demons, getting rich is lots of love.” The man knows how to bring life to a crowd. Although still yet to release an official studio album, Jahmez has created songs that I listen to on a daily basis over many mainstream artists. Some standouts for me are Closure, Demons, Respectfully Toxic, and Satellite. What I love about Jahmez is how his voice is the focal point of his tracks with soft melodic beats in the background setting the vibe for the content matter. Every drum kick emphasizes his vocals and the instrumentation sets such an ambient atmosphere that it’s hard not to close your eyes and feel every word Jahmez sings. What makes him a star is even if you can’t directly relate to what he says he still makes you feel like you do.
“I’m the life of the party. Respectfully Toxic. I dropped out of college, always finessing I’m being honest.” The catchy bar, among many, is heard in “Respectfully Toxic” on his 2021 EP. Throughout the whole EP, it is clear to see his potential is there. He’s got the personality, the voice, the style, and the catchiness in his music to get to the top. It’s only a matter of time for Jahmez.
