Destroy Lonely
Co-Writer: Cooper Knoll
Destroy Lonely is a 20-year-old rapper from Atlanta. His father, I-2, is best known for his 2001 breakthrough single Move Bitch, which he co-wrote with Ludacris. Destroy Lonely has named Tyler, The Creator, Earl Sweatshirt, LUCKI, Chief Keef, and Drake as his early musical influences, and he even acknowledges that he sounds a bit like his father as he's worked more and more on his craft. Destroy Lonely’s music is definitely in the same vein as the other new wave “rap”. He utilizes a lot of distorted vocal effects over very synth-heavy beats to create a certain atmosphere that just envelops the listener. It's no wonder that with his sound he quickly caught the attention of fellow Atlanta rapper Playboi Carti and after sitting in on some Whole Lotta Red sessions Destroy Lonely was signed to Opium Records alongside Ken Car$on. He has some great hits such as Bane, When It Rains and In The Air. Destroy Lonely has a very unique sound which has garnered him fans who love him so much as they can’t find this kind of music just anywhere. Destroys’s biggest hit Bane dropped 2 years ago and currently sits at 11.5M on Spotify and 2.89M on Soundcloud. His newest single, 20YRS OLD, just recently dropped and sits at 31K SoundCloud on April 4th. Destroy Lonely is a name that has been recently heating up and with many collabs with other young popping peers, he’s only bound to breakthrough soon.
