Chase Shakur
Introducing Chase Shakur, an up-and-coming Alternative R&B artist hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. Chase began his journey in the music industry as a rapper in the East Atlanta underground rap scene in 2016 but made the transition to singing in 2018. With inspirations ranging from Jodeci and Mary J. Blige to Partynextdoor, Chase has managed to blend modern R&B production with his 90s-style vocals and rap-like songwriting in a uniquely dynamic way.
Chase has come a long way since he first started making music in high school, and is now ready to showcase his talents on a global level. He is known for his innovative approach to R&B, blending genres and always striving to push the boundaries of the genre with each release. His latest project, It’ll Be Fine is a wonderful display of his talent and potential as a future RnB star. The production is clean and crisp and radiates late-night vibes. This reminds me a lot of Bryson Tiller’s Trapsoul where the production uses a lot of heavy bass and blends a few genres together to create a certain aesthetic. “Too Far Close” and “Honda civic ‘98” were definitely my stand out tracks on the project.
When asked about the journey to where he is now, Chase credits hard work and determination as key factors in his success, but also acknowledges that it hasn't always been a smooth road. He notes that one of the biggest challenges he faced starting out was getting others to believe in his vision and show them that it was possible to turn nothing into something. However, Chase is grateful for the struggles and challenges he has faced along the way, as they have helped him grow and develop as an artist.
In addition to his own hard work and dedication, Chase credits his team for their role in his success. He specifically mentions GHXST and Origin, who have played a huge role in his new music, trusting his ideas and helping him bring them to life through their production work on nearly all of his music.
Keep an eye out for Chase Shakur as he continues to make waves in the R&B scene and usher in a new era of the genre. With his unique blend of modern production and 90s-inspired vocals, Chase is sure to make an impact on the music world. He is a talented artist who is constantly pushing the boundaries of the genre and striving for excellence in his work, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for him.
